Australian manager Ange Postecoglou has expressed his gratitude to Celtic fans for their support during his trophy-filled tenure before being appointed as the new boss of Tottenham Hotspur on a four-year contract.
“They wanted me to extend my time at Celtic and while I am so respectful and understanding of their position, a new opportunity has been presented to me and it is one which I wanted to explore.”

Following his achievement of a domestic treble with Celtic in the 2022-23 season, Postecoglou is now tasked with transforming Tottenham as they face a season without European football.
The fans of the North London club eagerly anticipate his success, hoping he can build upon the foundation set by Mauricio Pochettino after unsuccessful managerial spells under Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, and Antonio Conte.

Postecoglou bid farewell to Celtic, reflecting on the honour of managing the Scottish giants and expressing his commitment to delivering success and creating a team the fans could be proud of.
With over 25 years of managerial experience, including successful tenures in Japan and Australia, Postecoglou’s attacking philosophy is heavily influenced by his affiliation with Manchester City and the style implemented by Pep Guardiola. During his time at Celtic, the team enjoyed a dominant campaign in the Scottish Premiership, scoring 114 goals and conceding only 34.

The move to England brings challenges, especially amid speculation about Harry Kane’s future. However, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy believes Postecoglou is the right fit due to his positive mentality, fast and attacking style, and player development track record.
“Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play.
He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy — everything that’s important to our club.”

Postecoglou embraces the opportunity to revitalize Tottenham after a disappointing eighth-place finish. Restoring the club to the heights reached under Mauricio Pochettino, including the Champions League final in 2019, is the new challenge.
However, the departures of key figures like Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris may complicate matters. Tottenham fans anticipate improved performances under Postecoglou’s leadership, aiming to return to the elite level of football.
